Demons finish 3rd at Krash Kings

Congratulations to Crashco who are the new Krash King Champions. Crashco made easy work of the weakened Real Steel team in the final. Real Steel down to five cars while Crashco managed to field 8 and Crashco coming out deserved winners.

The Demons only managed to start with eight cars instead of the planned 10 but still managed to get that 3rd spot with a good team effort, 224 Graham Gamble scoring highly. There's a couple of short video clips from Krash Kings, if you haven't got Broadband, you may find it takes a while to download. Click here to view the clips.

Photos from this meeting can be seen here.

Well done Demons:
224 Graham Gamble
98 John Harris (Mucka)
345 Carl Brown (Watty)
400 Dave Butler (Prof)
132 Chris Cullum
162 Bret Fiddler
330 Colin Murphy (Murf)
232 John McAleenan (Mac)

Hednesford National Banger Team Championship

We had two teams (Demons & Mendos) entered for the Nationals and both teams had their moments. I'd just like to say well done to both teams who put on a good display.

DEMONS
95 Scott Gamble Tipton
132 Chris Cullum Walsall
150 Chris Key Wolverhampton
162 Bret Fiddler Darlaston
236 Andy Robinson Darlaston
999 Scott Hill Bilston

MENDOS
86 Aaron Groves West Midlands
98 John Harris West Bromwich
224 Graham Gamble Wolverhampton
330 Colin Murphy Worcester
400 Dave Butler Tipton
531 Toby Tropper Bilston

999 Scott Hill (as always) impressed most with his (move out the way I'm going for the win) tactics, taking a heat win which is by no means easy in that sort of company. Top drivers from all around the country were at this meeting and every race was action packed. A few other Demon drivers stood out who I hadn't really took much notice of before, one being 531 Toby Tropper (Mendos) who despite having a badly damaged & ill handling car STILL went round the track at speed making concrete dust every time he came round the pit bend as he shaved the wall time and time again! I even noticed him shadowing 999 Scott Hill for some time in one heat and there aren't many that can do that, Toby managing an eventual 7th place and two points for 'Mendos'. 98 John Harris managed to take the Destruction Derby win in the '' B' Final which again is no easy feat.

You have to have SOME luck to do well at this sort of meeting, Veteran Demon and longest serving (Driver) member 236 Andy Robinson (Robbo) was sadly lacking in this department on the day. It seemed he had a good start and looked to be very quick. But then the inevitable track blockage happened....Robbo with nowhere to go but straight into the back of someone! A following Stinkbridge car....do I need to say more? Yer that's right, rearranged the back of Robbo's car. From then on Robbo's motor was hit quite a few times as a gap eventually appeared through the blockage. Robbo being the chicane that many failed to negotiate without glancing! His car was damaged enough to make that his first and last race of the day!
A good day for the Demons, a good meeting with loads of action and incidents.

Congratulations to 2004 Team Champions the Barton Boys who managed to take the title despite new member (luckless on this occasion) Ex Demon Marc (Woka) Watkins having engine problems all day. I know Marc was well fed up by his performance or should I say car performance. No doubt he'll have other moments of glory with the Barton Boys, not as many as he had with the Demons of course! :-)

New Members
Special thanks & welcome to new member 'Murf' who at short notice raced in the 'B' team 'Mendos'. Murf also helped us out at short notice last year at Krash Kings and it's nice to see he's now joined as a full member. Not only that but his mate Ashley has also joined the Demons, it seems we'll have a full Grimley branch of Demons the way things are going with another two drivers from the same area interested in joining the Demons!

More photos, (over 200) from this meeting, thanks to Tracy can be viewed here.

If you'd like to view a video clip of the follow in of Mr ASS (Real Steel) at the same meeting, try this link.

Demon News
DEMONS win Top Towns (whatever that means) 2 Litre Banger Team meeting at Hednesford....

Scott Hill, Graham Gamble, Brett Fiddler, Rob Merrick & John Harris were the Demon drivers who took on Barton Boys and a few other teams at the Hednesford domestic meeting. Demons managing a 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 8th place in one of the heats! 2nd and 4th in another heat which gave them twice the amount of points of nearest rivals Barton Boys. It seemed all the Demons had to do was get one car reasonably placed in the final to take the title. Demon Scott Hill came in 2nd in the final behind one of the Barton Boys and another Barton Boy finished 5th. The Demons were presented with the winners trophies BUT when it came to the payout they were told they had equal first position with the Barton Boys!! WORK THAT ONE OUT!

Still it's a kick in the teeth to those that seem to think the Demons are on their way out....don't think so....on their way up more like.

Well done lads.
